New York—The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee announced today that Evan Majzner has been named the new Executive Director of JDC Entwine, the global Jewish humanitarian organization’s young adult engagement initiative. Majzner brings to JDC a dynamic skillset that includes deep experience with immersive travel, a track record of fundraising and leadership development, and strategic growth and innovation. He is currently Chief Growth Officer at itrek, a nonprofit dedicated to immersive Israel travel.

“We are so proud that Evan will join the JDC team and lead Entwine, one of our most treasured programs! His vision, leadership, and expertise will serve as an inspiration to growing numbers of young Jews seeking meaning, connection, and opportunities to impact the Jewish and wider world. At a time of complexity and challenge, Evan and the Entwine team will motivate and shape the rising generation of Jewish leaders needed to build a bright and strong future for our people,” said JDC CEO Ariel Zwang.

During his tenure at itrek, Majzner has been instrumental in shaping and growing the organization’s strategic direction and programming. He helped expand itrek’s annual fundraising and advanced the organization’s alumni programming, impact measurement, and marketing. At the Birthright Israel Foundation, he played a key role in building the NYC-based fundraising infrastructure and leadership pipeline. Majzner is the founder of DLead, a nonprofit that convenes and elevates top Jewish communal fundraising professionals and strengthens their leadership to advance the broader Jewish nonprofit sector. Before transitioning into the Jewish professional field, he practiced law.

“Throughout my career, I’ve seen the powerful impact immersive experiences can have on shaping the values and leadership of young people. I can’t imagine a more important moment to join the Entwine team and community and to work together to cultivate the next generation of globally engaged Jewish leaders. Building on JDC’s global reach, we will translate Jewish responsibility into meaningful action, strengthening communities and advancing a more connected Jewish future,” said Majzner.

JDC Entwine builds a generation of young Jews who lead lives of global Jewish responsibility. Through immersive global experiences and leadership development, Entwine strengthens Jewish identity and develops young Jews into leaders for the global Jewish world. To date, Entwine has connected tens of thousands of young Jews to global Jewish life and needs and has trained more than 1,000 young leaders for Jewish communities in North America and beyond.
