Here’s a video showing the dramatic impact of JDC’s Supportive Community for the Elderly program in Tirat HaCarmel in the fire emergency.

On a day to day basis, Supportive Community helps hundreds of elderly feel secure and independent in their homes.

Through the program’s life-saving range of social, medical, and help services, including a 24-hour emergency alert system and on-call community ‘parent’, these elderly Israelis come together as a genuine community who regularly connect for support and companionship.

In the aftermath of the Second Lebanon War, the Tirat HaCarmel community was strengthened by trauma and resilience training made possible by the JFNAIsrael Emergency Campaign and the North American Jewish Federations.
